Privacy policy

In short Your trips stay on your iPhone.

VeeVu has no accounts, servers or analytics. I don't collect, see, sell or share what you save in the app. There are no ads and no tracking.

1. Who is responsible

VeeVu is made by Anh Quan (Jaqobs) Tran. For privacy questions, write to support@veevu.io. Full contact details are on the support page.

2. What the app stores, and where

Everything you create is stored only in the app's local database on your device:

  • The name you choose for your offline account
  • Spots, groups, trips, plans and budgets
  • Journal entries, including their text, photos, locations, weather, mood, hashtags and companion names

3. Permissions

  • Location. Used while you write a journal entry, to fill in where you are and to suggest a nearby saved spot. The app doesn't track your location in the background.
  • Photos. Used only for the photos you choose to add to spots, plans or entries.

Both are optional. You can change them at any time in the iPhone's Settings.

4. Services the app connects to

Some features need an internet connection. The app then sends only what the feature needs, and no account or personal details:

  • Google Maps. When you save a short Maps link, the link is resolved with Google to find the place. Opening a spot in Google Maps hands the place over to Google. The Google Privacy Policy applies.
  • Apple Maps. Cover photos (Look Around or satellite views), maps, and place names for coordinates come from Apple's map services. Apple's privacy policy applies.

5. Backups and export

You can export your database as a file. You decide where that file goes, for example to Files or to another app. Depending on your settings, your iPhone's own backups may include VeeVu's data. VeeVu doesn't sync between devices.

6. Deleting your data

You can delete individual entries in the app. Deleting the app removes all of its data from your device. Exported files and device backups stay where you saved them until you delete them.

7. Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to access, correct, delete and move your personal data, to restrict or object to its processing, and to complain to a data protection supervisory authority. Because I don't hold any of your data, you can use most of these rights directly in the app. If you have a question, get in touch.

8. Changes

If a feature changes how data is handled, this policy will be updated first, with a new effective date at the top.
